Properties

Structural steels are carbon and manganese steels with
guaranteed minimum strength (elastic limit and tensile strength) and satisfactory levels of ductility

They are suitable for many applications and are available from steel stockholders and service centres in the most commonly used size combinations and shapes

Advantages�

Structural steels have a good aptitude for welding by all conventional processes.
Generally speaking, when they are welded these steels require neither preheating nor subsequent stress-relieving annealing of the weld

In addition to their excellent mechanical characteristics they also have very satisfactory impact strength values

Applications

These steels are used in most sectors of the building and mechanical construction industries

Applications include, among others, construction modules, containers, tanks and profile
